Aden

Aden is situated on the south coast of Yemen and has a population of approximately 550,744. The city’s ancient, natural harbour is located in the crater of an extinct volcano. Aden consists of easily distinguishable sub-centers surrounding the crater. Main sights in the city include The Cisterns of Tawila, Sira Fort, The Aden Minaret, The Rimbaud House, natural beaches, etc.

The British captured Aden in 1839, and made it the most important port of Yemen. Today, modern Aden is the second largest city of a united Yemen, a main sea port as well as the economic capital of the entire country.
